iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 for iPhone Released with Apple Intelligence Features

Apple has released iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 for iPhones, and leaks have shown that this update is a notable introduction as it brings features powered by Apple Intelligence to the iPhone.

Many features like writing tools, object removal tool, and web page summarization will now be available on supported iPhone versions, and along with iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1, Apple has also released updates for its other devices like iPad and Mac.

iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 Update Features:

According to Apple, the iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 update adds new features powered by Apple Intelligence, offering:

– Writing tools

It is an AI-powered feature with options to review documents with spelling and grammar checking, and users can also ask it to rewrite the text in three different degrees: brief, friendly, and professional. It can also summarize the text, create lists and tables, or highlight key points from the text.

– Cleaning tool

The Cleanup tool takes advantage of Apple Intelligence to remove unwanted objects, backgrounds, or text from photos.

– Siri

While the smarter Siri that Apple showed off at WWDC 2024 is still not available, the update introduces a new user interface (UI) that makes the edges of the screen glow while talking to the voice assistant.

– Safari

iPhone users running iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 can now access web page summary when Reader View is turned on.

– Call recording

Although it’s not part of Apple Intelligence, it can be triggered by tapping a new icon that appears in the upper-left corner of the screen. All recipients are notified via an audible message once the call recording starts. The recording, along with a transcript, is saved in the Notes app.

Alongside the iOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 update, Apple also released iPadOS 18.1 and ‌macOS Sequoia‌ 15.1 updates featuring Apple Intelligence.
