After sharing a series of concepts with possible changes to the iOS 17 — including apps such as Wallet (Wallet) and health (Health) —, o leaker @analyst941 is back with another (supposed) visual novelty for the next version of the system that pushes the iPhones.

This time the leaker shared a concept of what he says will be the new Live Activity (Live Activity) do app Maps (Maps), which should take up most of the locked screen to show the directions the user needs to take during navigation. According to the information, the novelty will have a smooth transition between the locked screen and the traditional view of the app.

Love it or hate it, Apple doesn’t care — this is Maps’ new “Live Activity” for the lock screen (all iPhones).
Smooth transition when unlocking.
View notifications on the map by swiping up as usual.
Shows most lock screen elements until [o iPhone] be unlocked (except widgets, as far as I know).

As you can see in the image, when this Live Activity is activated, you can still see the clock, date and shortcuts for the flashlight and camera at the bottom of the screen. Notifications can be accessed normally just by swiping from top to bottom, and the user can see the count of received notifications just below the map with navigation.

Still according to the leaker, you can move the map normally and minimize or expand Live Activity with just one tap (as you can already do with the playback controls, for example). Any other action while browsing, however, will require opening the full app.

In addition, the novelty should arrive for all iPhones compatible with iOS 17 which, according to @analyst941 himself, can be installed on all devices that are already compatible with the current iOS 16. everything is even in Apple’s plans in less than a month, during WWDC23.
