According to 9to5Macsome owners of iPhones running iOS 17 — especially with the iPhone 15 — are experiencing problems with Wi-Fi. Basically, when browsing the internet/applications using this type of wireless network, the connection starts to become very slow, without a clear trigger, or even simply stops. not work effectively.
In other words, despite the device being connected to the Wi-Fi network, the contents are not loaded, just as if the network were not working. The issue is that this problem is only observed on devices running iOS/iPadOS 17; on others, including Macs, the connection to the same network works normally, without presenting the instabilities seen on the iPhone/iPad.
When facing this problem, turning Wi-Fi or Airplane mode on and off — reconnecting to the desired network — has been a workaround for users to be able to use the internet on their devices with the latest version of the operating system. Apple has not yet officially taken a position on the problem, nor has it provided a definitive solution.
Several people have reported experiencing the bug on the Apple forums e no Reddit, highlighting that, when activating and deactivating Airplane mode, the connection works once more. Some reports relate the problem to the Private Relay from iCloud+; Others include situations in which, despite being connected to a network, when accessing Settings, the iPhone claims not to be connected to the internet.
On Reddit, some possible solutions pointed out by users are to disable the private Wi-Fi address and adjust the router channel to 20MHz, 40MHz or 80MHz. However, there is no guarantee that these changes will solve the problem, as the causes of the bug are not yet known.
