A technical site monitored a change in the messaging feature in iOS Apple may improve the messaging experience between iPhone and Android smartphones.
XDI Developers found some new behaviors in the messaging feature in the developer beta version of the (iOS 17) system that was launched this week, and it returns to (iOS) users some of the benefits of iMessage chats even with Android phones. , according to aitnews.
And if Apple launches the new features in the final version of the (iOS 17) system, which is expected to be launched in the fall of 2023, this will be a victory for iPhone owners, and a win for Android phone owners.
At the present time, any group chat between Android and (iOS) users brings everyone back to green bubbles, and the SMS and MMS text messaging protocol limits the quality of shared photos and videos, and eliminates some of the (Images) features, such as : The ability to modify sent messages.
This means that iPhone owners do not enjoy, when chatting with Android phone users, all the features they usually enjoy when chatting with their iOS counterparts.
And the (XDA) website said that, with the beta version of the (iOS) system, iPhone users were able to modify their green bubble messages in the mixed group chat.
The photos and videos shared were of the highest resolution available on IceMG. They were also able to create threaded replies to specific messages, just like in iMessage.
But the problem is that these features are seen only by iPhone users and not by Android users, so they are not able to edit messages, nor get full-resolution photos and videos, nor chain replies.
However, it can be said that the case is currently like this, and it may change in the final version of the (iOS 17) system, and Apple may add some features, such as: sending modified messages as additional separate messages, with an explanation of this. The company may decide to forgo all of that.
