iOS 16: how to display the autonomy of several devices on the locked screen

With iOS 16, Apple allows users to customize the lock screen. Here’s how to view the battery of multiple devices.

While it is quite simple to add a Battery widget on the lock screen, the method for displaying the autonomy of several devices is a little more confusing. To do this, you will have to touch the locked screen for a long time to bring up the icon. Personalize at the bottom of the interface, then it will be necessary to touch the frame of the widgets in order to add an element, before choosing Batteries (or the associated icon) so that the appropriate widget is placed in the frame provided for this purpose. Once done, touch the widget that has just been displayed, then deactivate the option Automatiqueand finally touch the line Devices in order to select the one of your choice (see the pictures below. Please note that the devices -Apple Watch and AirPods or Beats headphones- must be connected in order to be able to select them from the list Devices).

So, even if the processes could/should have been much simpler and instinctive, you can display the remaining battery of your iPhone, but also of your Apple Watch and/or your AirPods on the lock screen (the icons will also remain visible on the always-on screen of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max). If you leave the option Automatique activated, the system will choose the icon to display depending on the situation (and this choice is not necessarily the most relevant). devices of your choice (it would be nice to also be able to display the remaining battery life of a MacBook Pro/Air registered to the same account).
