In the wake of the keynote, Apple is distributing the first beta of iOS 16 (build 20A5283p) and iPadOS 16 (20A5283p) for developers. The novelties are numerous: there are a locked screen reviewed from top to bottom, news features in Messagesa refurbished Home application, a Photos library sharing more practical with the family…
iPadOS 16 is entitled to specific new features, such as the Stage Manager function (including available on macOS) to handle several applications on the screen easily and the full support for a secondary display. These two flagship features of iPadOS 16 are reserved for iPads equipped with an M1 chip.
tvOS 16 (build 20J5299n), which we didn’t hear regarding during the keynote, is also in beta.
Public betas will be available in July and final releases are scheduled for this fall as usual.
