iOS 16.4.1, iPadOS 16.4.1 and macOS 13.3.1 are released!

In the middle of Good Friday, the Apple just released the iOS 16.4.1 (compilation 20E252), o iPadOS 16.4.1 (I’m going) eo macOS Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261) for all users.

As many might have suspected, the new versions mostly bring fixes and improvements — including, we guess, solutions to problems affecting the Weather apps (Weather) and the Wi-Fi of some devices. Specifically, Apple cites in the changelog of iOS 16.4.1 a bug that when pressed, the hand emojis did not show variations in skin tone, and another that, in some cases, the Siri didn’t answer.

In the case of Weather, as we reported, the weather information simply does not appear in the application and in the widget properly. The scale of the problem is also significant, as it has affected users around the world; for some it normalized, but for many it was still “coming and going”.

As for Wi-Fi, some users have reported that since the iOS 16.4 update, they have had to re-enter all saved Wi-Fi network passwords despite being synced to iCloud.

In addition, we cover recent issues involving the continuity features of Apple’s systems, such as Universal Control, Handoff and the Universal Clipboard, as well as reports of instabilities with AirDrop, the unlocking of the Mac by the Apple Watch (which the company confirms to have fixed in macOS 13.3.1) and even the communication between the iPhone and the Apple TV .

Updates for all three systems also include important security fixes, detailed by Apple in two support articles: iOS 16.4.1 and iPadOS 16.4.1, macOS Ventura 13.3.1. The company claims that they have reports that they were already being actively exploited out there, that is, they are critical.

It is worth remembering iOS 16.5 and macOS 13.4, as well as other upcoming versions of Apple’s other operating systems, which are already being tested in parallel. Presentations of iOS 17 and macOS 14 are expected at the opening keynote of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 on June 5th.
