The update carousel continues to spin. Apple has released the first betas of iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5.
Developers can download the iPhone, iPad, and Mac pre-release operating systems from the Apple Developer Center or over the air following pre-installing the appropriate profile on the iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Apple has also released early betas of tvOS 15.6 and watchOS 8.7.
So far there is no information what is new in iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 or macOS 12.5. Apple hasn’t released any release notes yet. However, it cannot be assumed that many new functions will be added now that iOS 16, iPadOS 16, tvOS 16, watchOS 9 and macOS 13 will be presented at the World Wide Developer Conference 2022 in early June 2022. It is not yet known when the beta phase will start. Rumor has it that the internal alphas are still so unstable that the beta phase of the new generation cannot start immediately following the end of WWDC. Let us be surprised.
As we mistakenly thought with iOS 15.5 and macOS 12.4, iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 as well as macOS 12.5 will probably be the last updates of the current operating system generation.
