Apple is delivering the fifth beta of iOS 15.4 to developers this evening, a big update whose final version might drop sometime next week. The novelties are numerous and significant, starting of course with Face ID recognition with a mask : no need to wear an Apple Watch to unlock an iPhone or even worse, to enter the unlock code like in the Middle Ages!
iOS 15.4 is not content with this novelty, we are also entitled (finally!) to the Universal Command function to control an iPad from a Mac with the peripherals of the Mac, and without transforming the tablet into an external monitor like Sidecar.
Also note the addition of the health passport in the Maps and Health applications, or even the new batch of emojis. Without forgetting everything else, as we have described in our various articles to consult here. tvOS 15.4, which is also entitled to some cool new stuffis also offered in a new beta, just like watchOS 8.5.
Update – Mark Gurman has let say that this beta 5 was the final build. In the absence of major last-minute bugs, the final version of iOS 15.4 might carry the number 19E5241a, but we will wait for a possible release candidate in the next few days.
