M. Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and Mr. Azdine El Mountassir Billah, CEO of inwi proceeded, this Wednesday, February 16 in Rabat, to the signing of a partnership agreement for setting up a donation of new technology equipment for the benefit of schools. This project aims to promote digital education as a solution to the current challenges of Moroccan schools.
Through this donation of new technology equipment, inwi supports the Ministry of National Education in its efforts to ensure equal access to digital technology and provide stimulating learning environments. The global operator thus aims to actively participate in the national effort to democratize access to digital technology and accelerate the digital transformation of schools, while encouraging useful and responsible uses.
This new partnership, part of the national vision for the digital transformation of schools, once once more crystallizes inwi’s efforts in favor of social action, particularly in the field of education, which is of special interest to the operator. .
Indeed, over the years, inwi has launched several initiatives for the digital transformation of schools: In the particular context of the health crisis, the operator has offered free access to the “TelmidTICE” distance learning platform. It has also mobilized to support the teaching staff to better adapt to e-learning, through a certification training program, as well as through the facilitation of access to very high-speed connectivity offers, within the framework of of the “Nafida II” program of the Mohamed VI Foundation. More recently, the “Connected Classes” operation has already enabled 20 classes to be renovated and equipped with connectivity and IT tools in several regions of Morocco.
Finally, and as a necessary prerequisite for any digital acceleration, inwi invests and offers all available technologies to give the national education system access to Very High Speed Internet. Take the example of the MARWAN network deployment project: a very high-speed national university network which today connects 112 higher education establishments via fiber optics – and benefits more than one million students.
