They are insisting on abolishing mandatory receipts for amounts under 30 euros, as the “Standard” reported on Friday. Such evidence would extend over 1,500 kilometers every day and would therefore consume large amounts of wood, said the head of the ÖVP Economic Association, Kurt Egger, in the Ö1 “Mittagsjournal”.

Christoph Matznetter, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and SPÖ economics spokesman, like other officials across all parties, is pushing for a limit of 50 euros, below which no receipts would have to be issued unless consumers request it.
