“El rapto”, fourth feature film by Daniela Goggi and only Argentine title at the 80th Venice Film Festival had its acclaimed world premiere at La Mostra where it competes in the Orizzonti Extra section.
The film, inspired by the book “El salto de papá”, by Martín Sivak, and starring Rodrigo de la Sernamanages for its director to show that “invisible enemy that continued to function, the intelligence services of the dictatorship”, according to what he pointed out in an interview with the ANSA news agency.

on the tape, De la Serna plays Julio Levy, who following exile returns to the family business that operated in Argentina in the 80s and his brother is kidnapped.
Goggi, a girl in transition, remembers that period “the feeling of euphoria and uncertainty. The desire to have a democratic country was such that it was thought that the institutions were going to align themselves with the democratic project.”
The filmmaker pointed out that with this film she wanted to pay homage to her parents’ generation, “which was badly hit and all the effort they made, including emotional shielding in order to survive.”

The director and the protagonist took part in the premiere of “El rapto” in Venicein addition to the producers of the film generated by Paramount +, Benjamín Domenech (Rei Cine) and Cindy Teperman and Phin Glynn (Infinity Hill).
