Global investors and business leaders discussed emerging investment opportunities in the new economy sectors in the Middle East during a session organized by the Investopia Global Investment Platform on September 13, during the “SALT” New York 2022 conference.
The session, which was held under the title “Investing in the Middle East: Investment Strategies and Future Sectors”, discussed how the Middle East is emerging as a stable region full of opportunities led by young and vibrant generations, with a strong focus on innovation and new sectors of the economy, and the ambitious initiatives and projects put forward by governments.
The session also highlighted the appetite of global investors to invest in the Middle East, the key sectors to monitor in the coming years, as well as the role Investopia plays in creating global investment opportunities geared towards new economies.
Mohamed Nasser Al-Zaabi, CEO of the global investment platform Investopia, said: “Investopia launched its global dialogues through a dialogue session organized in New York, which comes following the dialogues it previously launched in Mumbai, New Delhi, Rabat and Geneva, which is in line with Investopia’s objectives in attracting investments towards sectors of the economy. Therefore, the session during the SALT conference is of great importance for its communication with global investors and policy makers looking for new economic opportunities.”
Sufian Al-Essa, Head of the IFC office in the UAE, said: “The Middle East region has many investment opportunities in various sectors such as technology, finance, and renewable energy. IFC has invested in the region for decades and we have been closely aware of its importance. Most importantly, we have witnessed how foreign investment can help increase economic growth and fight poverty in the Middle East and other regions of the world.
Nour Sweid, Managing Partner of Global Ventures, said: “I am delighted to participate in this year’s SALT conference with Investopia, and to be part of the conversation regarding the boom in startups in the Middle East. The Middle East is now emerging as a center for the most advanced technologies in the region and the world, led by a large number of ambitious youth, and supported by innovative systems and initiatives.”
