Investments to incorporate technology will make a significant leap in improving the electric service

Asuncion, IP Agency.- With the start of the digitalization plan for the electrical networks, ANDE will carry out a project for a “qualitative and quantitative leap in the possibility of improving the service for citizens,” said the Vice Minister of Mines and Energy, Mauricio Bejarano.

From an investment of US$ 29.5 million In the next three years, a survey of the components of the distribution system will be carried out for better control and monitoring.

“We have a huge challenge as a country, which is to improve the quality of service, and to do so we need a very significant investment in infrastructure, and this is proof that work is being done on a process of technical improvement to improve the service,” said Bejarano in conversation with Paraguay TV.

Regarding investments, he indicated that the ANDE Master Plan contemplates US$ 700 million per year, and that some US$ 300 million per year are being invested, so the challenge is to increase these investments and, therefore, the capacity of the national electrical system.

The Government has two objectives for the coming years in terms of energy: improving ANDE’s transmission system and investing in the generation of new sources.

On this last point, the vice minister indicated that ANDE’s first solar photovoltaic park, which will be 100 watts, will soon be available in Chaco.

“So we are going to introduce new sources of energy, in this case alternative solar photovoltaic energy, into our matrix, which will also be a leap forward, because it will be a learning process, it will be a diversification of the matrix to provide energy security and we are committed to ensuring that this process is developed with all the natural resources available,” he said.
