**Interview with Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government of Morocco**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Minister Zidane. You are leading a significant roadshow to Japan and South Korea aimed at promoting investment in Morocco. Could you share the main objectives of this mission?
**Karim Zidane:** Thank you for having me. The primary goal of this roadshow is to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Morocco and these two important countries. We aim to showcase Morocco as a prime destination for foreign direct investment, particularly in high-growth sectors such as automobiles, aeronautics, electronics, and agro-industry. We believe that by engaging directly with Japanese and Korean decision-makers, we can foster constructive dialogues and explore partnerships that will benefit our economies.
**Interviewer:** The roadshow includes events titled “Morocco Now.” What does this branding represent for Morocco?
**Karim Zidane:** “Morocco Now” encapsulates our national strategy to position Morocco as a sustainable and attractive platform for investment and trade. It reflects our ongoing commitment to improving our investment climate and highlights the opportunities available in sectors that are critical for future growth. During our conferences in Tokyo and Seoul, we will emphasize this message and demonstrate the potential that Morocco has to offer to global investors.
**Interviewer:** There’s a strong emphasis on attracting investment in the automotive and aerospace sectors. How does Morocco plan to compete in these industries?
**Karim Zidane:** Morocco has been investing heavily in building a robust industrial ecosystem that supports these sectors. We have established various economic zones and incentives to facilitate manufacturing and innovation. Additionally, our strategic geographic location offers excellent access to European markets, and our skilled workforce is increasingly recognized for its capabilities. We are confident that these factors will make us competitive on the global stage.
**Interviewer:** What particular challenges do you foresee in promoting Morocco as an investment destination?
**Karim Zidane:** While Morocco has much to offer, we are aware of the competitive landscape. There are existing strong players in the region, so we must continually enhance our value proposition. Our efforts must focus not only on marketing but also on ensuring a conducive business environment through regulatory reforms and infrastructure development. Additionally, we need to address concerns related to ease of doing business to attract more investors.
**Interviewer:** How do you measure the success of this roadshow, and what outcomes are you hoping for?
**Karim Zidane:** Success will be measured through the connections we make, the level of interest shown by investors, and ultimately, the tangible commitments we receive for investments in Morocco. We’re aiming for actionable outputs—partnerships and projects that contribute to our economic growth. The feedback we get during this tour will also shape our future investment strategies.
**Interviewer:** how can ordinary Moroccans contribute to and benefit from these investment initiatives?
**Karim Zidane:** Engaging the public is crucial. As we attract foreign investment, we envision creating more jobs and opportunities for local businesses. The growth in various sectors will lead to development in the community, and we encourage Moroccans to take part in this journey by being involved in training and local initiatives that complement these investments.
