Investigations into the Kellermayr case could move to Vienna

The “Kurier” reported this online on Monday. The background is apparently that – as the “Standard” reported at the end of September – there were several affected people who might have been threatened by the same perpetrator, including a Viennese couple.

Lisa-Maria Kellermayr had been receiving threats via email and social media for months – presumably from the anti-vaccination scene. She had repeatedly complained that she felt too little protected by the authorities. In the summer of 2022, she closed her practice for security reasons. A few weeks later she took her own life. Most recently, investigations into the threats were still pending at the Wels public prosecutor’s office and the Munich public prosecutor’s office.

WELS/MUNICH. Was the doctor driven to suicide by hate mail and death threats? Public prosecutors in Wels and Munich are continuing to investigate.

The justice system has still not concluded the “Kellermayr case”.

The fact that the Wels public prosecutor’s office now wants to hand over the proceedings to their Viennese colleagues may have something to do with the fact that there are other victims who might have been threatened by the same perpetrator. Hate mail is said to have been sent to a Würzburg lawyer, a northern German doctor and a Viennese couple. According to media reports, a linguist used the language patterns to confirm that the emails to all of these people came from the same author. The Viennese couple are the authors and activists Veronika and Sebastian Bohrn Mena, as the latter confirmed to the APA. He also described having received police protection during the acute phase.

Nina Bussek, spokeswoman for the Vienna public prosecutor’s office, confirmed in response to a “Kurier” request that the proceedings had been abandoned. “However, we are checking whether we also see responsibility.” There was initially no statement from the Wels public prosecutor’s office.
