The Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Board is investigating the mysterious case of a woman who gave birth to her baby in her parked car in the middle of a street on Thursday in La Prairie.
“The woman and her child were quickly transported to a hospital center. Maneuvers were made on the baby, but he was in critical condition and we feared for him at the hospital, ”explains Patrick Jasmin, public relations officer for the Cooperative of Ambulance Technicians of Montérégie (CETAM).
For her part, the police confirm having received a call from the 38-year-old mother around 3:56 p.m. after giving birth.

“The mother gave birth in her vehicle on rue des Ardennes. Let’s say that she was not in a state to discuss with our investigators today, ”said briefly the agent David Janssen of the Roussillon police.

According to the police officer, the woman could have called 911 before fully delivering her baby.

“We take it seriously. We want to understand why it happened like that. It is for this reason that we are investigating at the moment, ”says agent Janssen.
According to CETAM, the woman was alone in her car when she gave birth. Unlike her child, first responders weren’t worried about her Thursday night.
