The National Institute of Land Transport (INTT) is the entity in charge of processing a duplicate vehicle certificate. This document is requested when the user does not keep the original registration certificate due to theft, robbery, loss or deterioration.

In this regard, it is important to remember that since 2021, the INTT has automated the issuance of the new vehicle registration certificate (duplicate), in order to facilitate the process of requesting the procedure, for the management of its documents in a direct and secure manner.

Likewise, to carry out this process, the user must have on hand the Certificate of Inspection (Vehicle Expertise) and the Civil Liability Policy of the vehicle.

Step by step to obtain a Duplicate:

• 1. Log in to the system with your username and password.
• 2. Select the automated procedures/duplicate option in the menu.
• 3. Enter the vehicle data requested by the system to proceed with its validation.
• 4. Record the data of: Certificate of Inspection (Vehicle Expertise) and Civil Liability Policy.
• 5. Attach the image of the Vehicle Technical Inspection (front and back), in the measurements and format indicated by the system.
• 6. Cancel Online, through authorized means and within 24 hours you will receive the document in your email.
