The title of maritime border demarcation has not left its advanced position in the area of follow-up, whether inside Lebanon or some abroad, extending from Tel Aviv to Washington and Paris.
This advanced site is reinforced by active contacts sponsored by the American mediator, most of which are away from the media, following the setback that hit his efforts as a result of the fragments of the internal Israeli disputes.
And if some readings expect this file to fly until following the Israeli elections, others stop at a set of signs that keep the situation under control, including:
* First: An American official announced progress in the demarcation negotiations.
* Second: The Israeli Minister of War considered the agreement good and did not rule out signing it soon.
Third: Through the Americans, Lebanon has informed the Israeli position that what has been announced regarding the planned works in the Karish field is not a gas extraction process, but rather a test pumping.
In any case, neither extraction took place today, nor did the experiment take place on the part of the concessionaire (Energean), whose sites and the Israeli gas pipelines were hacked, and thus the pumping process stopped.
In domestic politics, Lebanon is approaching two stations in the coming week, the first of which is the second session of the House of Representatives devoted to electing a president, scheduled for Thursday, and the second on the following day, during which French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna visits Beirut… Will the two stations carry anything new? Let’s wait and see.
