Introducing the Passport Batch 2 hardware wallet

Passport is a fully open source hardware wallet developed by the Foundation Devices created by his team. Passport is designed to keep the private keys associated with Bitcoin safe while making interaction with the device as smooth as possible. Passport took most of its basic firmware and features from Bitcoin hardware wallet titan Coldcard. The goal of Passport is to package this experience in a product with a polished appearance, which is more for less “tech-sensitive” users.

Why should you choose the Passport wallet?

Passport’s focus is on generating and storing Bitcoin private keys completely offline. To serve this aspiration, the device is designed without a single port for cables, not even for power! The device works with two AAA batteries and communicates with the outside world via QR codes or a microSD card. Passport also uses the best security practice of “air gapping”. This allows the device to communicate with crypto wallet software such as Sparrow or Blue without having to physically connect to a laptop or phone with an internet connection.

Passport Batch 2

Externally, the Passport resembles an old-style Nokia mobile phone, which helps a lot to remain unnoticed by the uninitiated eye. The device itself is only 10cm tall and boasts a “T9” style keyboard that makes it easy to enter long passwords. The menu system is simple and easy to navigate, and the user interface is very responsive to keyboard input. Users will also find the “Pair Wallet” screen very useful, which they can use to pair the following bitcoin wallet software:
