Mondrian Cannes is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Philippe Vanthielt as General Director. With its design, its gardens and its privileged location by the sea, the new 5* establishment on La Croisette is a true jewel of the French Riviera.

Jean-Philippe Vanthielt succeeds Hugues Raybaud, General Director of the establishment since 1995, formerly the Grand Hôtel de Cannes and passed under the flagship Mondrian (premium lifestyle brand of the Accor group) in March 2023. I am very happy to have been able to contribute to writing some beautiful pages of this establishment over many years of shared pleasure and commitments and I am delighted to welcome Jean-Philippe who will now manage the Mondrian Cannes and to whom I wish much success and success.

Jean-Philippe Vanthielt brings with him over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a passion for service excellence.

With a distinguished career, he is ready to lead the hotel to new heights. Before joining the Mondrian Cannes, Jean-Philippe held management positions in several internationally renowned establishments (Hôtel Gray d’Albion – Groupe Barrière, Cap d’Antibes Beach Hôtel, Domaine des Andéols, Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo or Evian Royal Resort) where he was recognized for his leadership and his ability to create memorable experiences for guests.

It is an honor and a privilege to take the helm of Mondrian Cannes, a true green lung of the Croisette with its 4000m2 of gardens, declared Jean-Philippe Vanthielt. I am determined to maintain and strengthen the reputation of this hotel, providing our guests with unparalleled stay experiences and making Mondrian Cannes a destination of choice for travelers from around the world.

This appointment comes into force from October 1, 2023 and marks a new chapter in the history of the hotel.

About Mondrian Cannes:
Mondrian orchestrated the opening of a hotel in Cannes which multiplies the exceptions. On the site of the oldest palace on the Croisette, this five-star hotel is the highest on the boulevard, the only one to open onto a garden and the only one to connect the sea to Rue d’Antibes.
As for comfort standards, Mondrian Cannes defies all norms. Here, the smallest rooms have a surface area of 36m2 plus a terrace and the views quickly become magical.
In addition, this establishment adds the lively notes of the Mondrian brand to the Cannes hotel landscape. Architectural glamor distilled in the common areas by the Franco-Brazilian agency TrIptyque, artistic touch applied by photographer Mathilde de l’Écotais and a taste change guaranteed at the Mr. Nakamoto restaurant and bar: the destination is both local and international. Add to that a new gym and the white sand of Hyde Beach Cannes, Mondrian Cannes is the new flagship of the Croisette, the brand’s first establishment in France.
