USTAZ Felix Siauw had the opportunity to interview Rhoma Irama at the Soneta studio, Depok. In the interview, Rhoma admitted that he drank beer when he was early in music. Because of that experience, the King of Dangdut created the song Mirasantika.

“Have you ever heard the song Mirasantika? That’s a true story. So when I was a teenager, I played music, played rock, played pop too, and was once the Southeast Asian Pop Singer champion. I also used to drink beer but I didn’t have any narcotics, just beer, at most.” ” said Rhoma on the YNTV channel on YouTube.

From the music scene at that time, Rhoma felt uneasy. “Why do you have to do music to do Tarushshalah (abandon prayer)? When you pray, do you have to say it? Why do you have to take drugs? Why do you have to have free sex?” Rhoma’s story.

Seeing this, every prayer he prayed. “O Allah, if this artistic talent only widens my path to hell, please remove it. But if You can bring this art to Your pleasure, give me guidance.”

After that, Rhoma committed not to commit sins in music. The Sonnet declaration The Voice of Moslem was born. At that time there were eight personnel.

As time went by, Rhoma Irama and the Soneta Group became increasingly successful. The proof is that many offers to play in films came to Rhoma.

Rhoma is willing to play in films but there are three conditions. First, he doesn’t want to be an actor but to be himself. “I often watch Western films. There are stars that I idolize. I even watch Indonesian films and the stars I idolize. I really like this star. But when I met this star, it turned out to be really different, not as good as in the film. So I I don’t want that. I don’t want people to see me differently in the film than in the original because of that experience.”

The second condition is that there must be congregational prayers. This was because at that time many people in film production liked to leave out prayers. “If you go outside the city, you can have a congregation. If you are in the city, you have to be in congregation every time you pray.”

The third condition is that there must be no alcoholic beverages at the filming location. The thing is, at that time at the filming location, “The beer bottles were falling apart. Which means they were very close to the drinks.”

If these three conditions are met, Rhoma is willing to star in films. The producer who offered Bang Haji – Rhoma’s nickname – was confused. “Oh, I see, Bang Haji. Wow, this is really hard. Give me time, Bang Haji, to discuss.”

A few days later, the producer came back. “Okay, Bang Haji, I’m ready. Anyway, I’ll fulfill what Bang Haji requires.”

At that time Bang Haji was still in his 30s. “This means Bang Haji is more radical than me,” said Felix Siauw. This is because at that age Felix admitted that he might not be as firm as Bang Haji. (Z-2)
