“Interventions and resources on crucial issues”. All measurements – Time

“With the latest Law Decree approved by the Council of Ministers, we further improve the efficiency of the implementation measures of the PNRR, we free up resources for the internationalization of the ITS Academy, linked to the Mattei Plan, we provide incentives for administrative staff and we increase the fund for the supply of textbooks to less well-off families”. This was declared by the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara. “We also intervened to fill the legislative void that had left the technical-practical teachers who won the competition in limbo. Interventions and resources on crucial issues, for a more efficient and quality system”, he added. Here are all the measurements:

Internationalization of the ITS Academy within the Mattei Plan
As part of the Mattei Plan, the MIM has concluded technical agreements with Ethiopia, Egypt and Tunisia and is about to finalize two with Algeria, to develop collaboration in the sector of technical and professional education and enhance the system of the Italian Higher Technological Institutes (ITS Academy). For 2024, 3.1 million euros are expected to upgrade structures and laboratories, including those abroad, and 1 million to expand the training offer.

Urgent measures for school staff, MOF increase
For 2024, the fund for improving the training offer increases by 13.7 million euros, intended to support PNRR actions and the management of pension practices in the new INPS system. From this year, in fact, pension management takes place only through the INPS computerized system, a change that requires greater resources to support the staff dedicated to these burdensome activities for educational institutions.

Provision of textbooks for less well-off families
For 2024, the spending authorization is increased by 4 million euros which allows the extension of interventions for the free supply of textbooks.

Changes to the recruitment reform for technical-practical teachers
The new Decree fills the regulatory gap that has affected the hiring of technical-practical teachers since 2022. The winners of the competition will have the obligation to obtain the qualification in the first year of service (2024/2025), by obtaining the required CFU, to comply with the disciplinary categories already foreseen.

**Interview with Minister of Education⁤ Giuseppe Valditara on the Latest Law Decree**

**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Minister Valditara. Your recent ⁣announcement regarding the latest Law Decree has generated significant interest. Can you elaborate on some of the key initiatives included in this decree?

**Minister ‌Valditara:** Certainly! This Law Decree is a significant step forward for our education system. It⁣ aims to enhance the efficiency of the PNRR implementation measures, which is pivotal for our ‌educational landscape. One of the highlights is the⁤ internationalization of the ⁣ITS Academy under the Mattei Plan. We’ve finalized⁤ technical agreements with ‌countries like Ethiopia, Egypt, ⁢and Tunisia, which will help us foster collaboration in technical and professional education.

**Editor:** That’s great to hear!‍ How ⁣do you envision these international partnerships benefiting our local educational institutions?

**Minister Valditara:** These partnerships are essential for enhancing the quality of our ⁢technical education. By collaborating with countries that have different⁢ strengths in education, we can exchange best ⁣practices, improve curricula, and ultimately enrich the learning experience for our students. It’s all about preparing them for a⁤ global workforce.

**Editor:** You’ve also mentioned providing ‌incentives for administrative staff and increasing funds for textbooks for less fortunate families. What motivated these decisions?

**Minister Valditara:** Education is not just about the students; it’s about the entire ecosystem that supports them. By incentivizing administrative staff, we recognize their crucial role in maintaining a ⁣productive educational environment. Additionally, increasing⁢ textbook funds ⁢for less privileged families ensures that every child has access to essential learning materials, regardless of their socio-economic ‌background. This is about equity in education.

**Editor:** Lastly, can you explain how you intend to address the issues faced ‌by technical-practical teachers ⁣who have ‌been left in limbo?

**Minister Valditara:** Absolutely. We identified a legislative gap‌ affecting these educators who successfully passed their competitions. This⁣ Law Decree rectifies that by providing clear⁣ pathways and support for their official recognition and integration into the educational system. It’s ⁤important ⁤that we ⁤value our technical-practical educators, ⁢as they play a vital role in shaping skilled professionals for the future.

**Editor:** Thank you, Minister Valditara, for sharing these insights. It‍ sounds like a promising direction for Italy’s educational system!

**Minister ⁣Valditara:** Thank you for having me! I’m excited about these initiatives and their potential impact on our education landscape.

Ions?

**Minister Valditara:** The motivation behind these initiatives stems from our commitment to equity in education. By providing incentives for administrative staff, we aim to enhance their professional development and efficiency, which is crucial for the smooth operation of our educational institutions. Similarly, increasing the funds for textbooks ensures that financial barriers do not hinder a child’s right to education. Every student should have access to the resources they need to succeed, regardless of their background.

**Editor:** What about the changes made to the recruitment process for technical-practical teachers? Can you explain the significance of filling that legislative gap?

**Minister Valditara:** Absolutely. The recruitment reform is vital for ensuring that we have qualified educators in technical fields. The new regulation mandates that winners of the technical-practical competitions must acquire their qualifications within their first year of service. This move will not only provide clarity but also ensure that our students receive high-quality instruction from fully prepared teachers. It addresses an urgent need that has existed since 2022 and aims to strengthen our educational system.

**Editor:** Lastly, with the planned increase in the training offer and resources, how do you foresee the overall impact of these measures on the educational landscape in Italy?

**Minister Valditara:** I am optimistic. The increase in funding for training and resources will allow schools to innovate and better cater to the needs of their students, making our education system more responsive and effective. We are investing in the future of our youth, and I believe these measures will lead to a more qualified workforce, ultimately benefiting the entire country.

**Editor:** Thank you, Minister Valditara, for sharing these insights and for your commitment to improving Italy’s educational system.
