As he explained, the measure was adopted following a meeting with the leadership of the unions and also with the heavy load carriers who are negotiating with the Executive to avoid going on strike.
“We just finished a few minutes ago the meeting with the union directors, as well as regional representatives. 10,000 buses not operating
As specified, this measure of force would imply the inoperability of an average of 10,000 buses in the main terrestrial terminals of Lima, such as Yerbateros, Atocongo and Plaza Norte. Ojeda added that the representatives of these companies were present at the meeting.
The union representative attributed to the “laziness” of the government for the passenger carriers the decision of the force measure. In this sense, he maintained that they hope to be invited to participate in a dialogue table.
He also argued that despite the fact that his list of claims has points in coincidence with that of heavy cargo carriers, the Executive has not bothered to provide a joint solution.
“Apparently (there is an) obtuse position of some advisers or perhaps the minister of not reconciling public transport in a global solution and, according to what we have discussed with our trucker friends, it also forces us to start an indefinite strike by just like the truckers,” he said.
Ojeda also questioned that since the Government of peter castle there was no willingness to attend to the needs of the passenger carriers union and that, on the other hand, the management of the now fugitive former minister John Silva Meetings with informal carriers were prioritized.
