Interpol activates red alert once morest sub-inspector of the PNC of San Andrés Itzapa

Interpol activated the red alert to try to find the whereregardings of the sub-inspector of the National Civil Police (PNC), Edy Leonel Vásquez Rabanales.
According to the alert, the sub-inspector is accused of charges of extrajudicial execution and forced disappearance, following the incidents recorded in San Andrés Itzapa, Chimaltenango, where one person died and another is missing.
According to Interpol, a red notice is a request to law enforcement agencies around the world to locate and provisionally detain a person pending extradition or surrender, or similar judicial action. He adds that it is not an international arrest warrant.
Additionally, persons are searched by the requesting member country or by an international court.
On April 22, the PNC confirmed that three multidisciplinary teams are currently continuing the search for the sub-inspector involved in the events that occurred in San Andrés Itzapa, and that caused a mob to cause damage to the police substation.
The whereregardings of Vásquez Rabanales has been unknown since the early hours of Friday, April 19, following the report of the arrest of Eldin Leonel Choc Xi, a resident of that municipality, along with Milton Nelson Santamaría, of Canadian origin, according to authorities.
According to witnesses, Sub-Inspector Vásquez Rabanales would have beaten the detainees, causing the death of the Canadian, while Choc Xi remains missing.

PNC agents Yorleni Lisbeth Macario Ramos, Yulisa Nabely Ayala Yol, Fredy Santiago Velasquez Perez and Mauricio Abraham Contreras Salán were arrested in this case, linked to criminal proceedings for the crimes of extrajudicial execution and enforced disappearance.

The Ministry of the Interior reported that The alert was requested by the Public Ministry on Monday, April 22 and was published on Tuesday, the 23rd.. He highlighted: “less than 24 hours for publication.”
