Internships for medical students began at Ferreyra

This morning the Mandatory Final Project (PFO) began at the Municipal Hospital “Dr. Emilio Ferrerya”, through which five students who are regarding to finish their degrees at the Superior School of Medicine of Mar del Plata will rotate, for a few weeks, through the hospital and different health centers, with the aim of addressing five basic specialties: Medical Clinic, Pediatrics, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Primary Care.

This action arose from the signing of an agreement and allows the first graduates to carry out their internships rotating through the health institutions of our district, helping to strengthen the system and with the possibility of joining the staff once received.

The first five practitioners, two of them from Necochense, were accompanied on their first day of activity by the member of the Executive; the director of the hospital, Vilma Parodi; his associated authority, María Fernanda Menéndez; and the head of the Teaching Department, Liliana Figueroa.

“This means an important enhancement from the institutional and also in the hospital operation”, assured the third of them, who explained that “allowing them to know all the daily tasks transforms them into an option, in the immediate future, if they wanted select a place to train with your medical residency”.

Expanding on this assessment, Menéndez added that, “at the end of this PFO, (the students) will prepare to take a residency exam and do more specific training, then we would have an important benefit, because any of these future doctors might select our hospital, which implies an advance in the incorporation of professionals who want to be trained and, later, belong to the campus”.

“It is a commitment to the future, we want them to have a good experience and feel comfortable”, the Associate Director summarized the final objective of these practices.
