Do not mix during assembly

According to Ekonovus, one of the largest waste management companies in Lithuania, the myth that all garbage is put together is still very popular. It is easy to do on the company’s website find an explanationhow this process works.

Later, the mixed municipal waste is processed, and the sorted waste is delivered to the sorting center. Here they are sorted into many fractions and given to processors.

Also on the website of the Vilnius Waste System Administrator (VASA). a detailed explanation is providedhow waste is collected.

“Waste transport vehicles are adapted to transport both mixed municipal waste and sorted waste.

There are several types of cars: those that collect only mixed municipal waste; just sorted; or both communal and sorted,” says VASA’s website.

Garbage trucks for the collection of mixed waste and secondary raw materials have three different containers into which the waste is poured separately. Glass packaging is poured into one container, plastic, paper and metal packaging into another, and mixed municipal waste into the third.
