Engineers from Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NictI) shocked the world by performing the world’s first data transmission at a speed of 1.02 petabit per second (100,000 times faster than current fiber optics).

And he added that “they are the first in the world to use 1 petabit per second in fiber. We have succeeded in a large-capacity transmission experiment that exceeds it.”

It is not the first time that this institute has achieved world records with the construction of various transmission systems using new optical fibers.
In 2020, the same experts were able to reach a speed of 178 Tbps, but for this they needed data encoded in 15 different modes, so they needed a very complex technology.
Now, they have managed to improve the record of June 2021, when they reached 319 Tbps with a fiber that might be combined with current technology.
Dismantle FluBot: the banking Trojan that posed as delivery companies via SMS
Meanwhile, Europol dismantled the infrastructure of FluBot, a Trojan for Android devices that was distributed via SMS and pretended to be a delivery company to deceive its victims, which has had a significant impact in Spain in the last two years.
An operation in which eleven countries participated, including Spain, managed to dismantle the infrastructure used by the criminals behind FluBot, according to a Europol press release.

The cybersecurity company Eset first warned of its activity in late 2020, when it had not yet received a nameand later in March of last year, on the occasion of a campaign in Spain that supplanted the company MRW.
By the end of that month, it had already infected 60,000 terminals around the world and collected 11 million phone numbers to continue spreading through SMS, as Avast warned.
