He is the rioter (30) who injured three police officers, some seriously, in Kirchlengern, North Rhine-Westphalia, in December last year. This following he had already been accused of resisting law enforcement officials, trespassing and trespassing, bodily harm and property damage. The Ukrainian-born man with Polish roots was wanted on an international arrest warrant.
As the “Westphalia sheet» reported at the time, the man is said to have given a police officer such a push that he fell and lost consciousness for several minutes. During an altercation, he also inflicted three other officers with a broken nose, lacerations and hematomas.
He also attacked a person in the clinic where he was later admitted – this time a patient. After his release, the rioters went into hiding, which led to an international search for him. Now the rioters have been caught in Switzerland. This was announced by the Schengen information network of the police at the end of last week, as announced by the German district police authority in Herford.
He is said to be “very violent”.
The man, who was then described as possibly “very violent”, was arrested by the Solothurn canton police at a Swiss rest area near Bern. The arrest took place on June 8th.
The man behaved cooperatively, it is said. He had agreed to a simplified extradition to the police near the border in Weil am Rhein, Germany. The accused is now in custody there. This means that the international search can be withdrawn. The investigations of the competent public prosecutor’s office and criminal police are continuing. (dzc)
