Asuncion, IP Agency.- “Innovation and Sustainability: Advances in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Green Jobs and Forest Management in Paraguay” were the topics of the international seminar that took place between July 23 and 24 at the Central Bank of Paraguay, with the commitment to work on vocational education and training with the private sector, to create sustainable jobs and strengthen the economy in our country.
The Technical Secretary of the National System of Training and Vocational Education, Alfredo Mongelós, explained that the main idea is that compatriots can have access to quality education to be incorporated into the workforce in companies that request qualified labor.
He also stressed that green jobs refer to jobs in agriculture, livestock, recycling, research and development, which contribute especially to preserving or restoring the environment.
In this regard, he indicated that the aim is to generate awareness and citizen participation, which is a world that we have to explore and support the new generation of employment and, above all, support the industries that are coming to establish themselves in the country, he stressed.
Leading experts from international organisations contributed their expertise, including Mario Eckardt from GIZ in Germany; Jon Labaka from TKNIKA, Spain; Ana Pego from the University of Algarve, Portugal; and Mona Anitta Riihimäki from Häme University of Applied Sciences, Finland, who shared their perspectives and best practices in sustainable forest management and TVET development.
