Tel Aviv: Countries continue to recall ambassadors in protest at Israeli attacks. Most recently, the African country of Chad recalled its ambassador to Israel.
Last day, the Central American country of Honduras and Turkey withdrew their ambassadors. After Bolivia cut diplomatic ties with Israel completely from Latin America, Chile and Colombia also recalled their ambassadors.
“In the face of such a tragedy, we condemn the loss of countless innocent lives,” the African nation of Chad said in a news release.
Bolivia has become the first country to cut diplomatic ties with Israel over its attacks on Gaza. Deputy Foreign Minister Fedri Mamani said at a press conference on November 1 that his country made the decision to reject and condemn Israel’s military actions.
Foreign Minister Entic Reina tweeted on Saturday that the government has decided to immediately call the Israeli Republic of Honduras Ambassador Roberto Martínez to Tegucigalpa in view of the grave humanitarian situation faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Colombia announced last week that it has decided to recall our ambassador to Israel for consultations. Colombia’s left-wing president, Gustavo Petro, wrote in X last week that “we cannot stay unless Israel stops its massacre of the Palestinian people.”
Chile, which has the largest Palestinian population outside the Arab world, said last Tuesday it was recalling its ambassador to protest Israel’s violations of international humanitarian law.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadhi said in a statement to state media last week that the Jordanian ambassador would return to Tel Aviv only if Israel ends the war in Gaza.
“This is to express Jordan’s position and condemn the killing of innocent people in Gaza by Israel,” he said in a statement.
Currently, Turkey, Honduras, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Jordan, Bahrain and Chad have recalled their ambassadors from Israel.
