International Gamer Day is celebrated on August 29

Created in Spain, International Gamer Day is celebrated on August 29, with the aim of making a mention of people who are dedicated to digital games professionally and as entertainment.

In Brazil, the games market has been boosted in recent years, with emphasis on the initial period of the pandemic, in 2020. A survey carried out by Pesquisa Games Brasil (PGB 9th edition – 2022) highlights that 74.5% of the survey participants have habit of consuming electronic games.

The study also points out that there has been an evolution in the number of users who consider games the main form of entertainment. In 2020, it was 57.1%, while in 2021, the percentage increased to 68%. In 2022, the index reached 76.5%.

Abragames on International Gamer Day

The Brazilian Games Industry (Abragames 2022) reinforced that game development companies had a growth of 150% in the last five years. Considering the ranking of the 10 most demanded products, gamification products occupy the 1st place, however, educational and corporate games are also on that list.

In this way, it is observed that the tendency of professionalization of the gamer activity is stimulated by the diversity of access to games, disputes in tournaments and also, by having technical knowledge in the technical area.

At Senac EAD, people interested in starting a career in the games sector have the following options: Cosplayer & Cosmaker, Content Creator (Beginner and Intermediate) and Pro Player LoL (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)

On the other hand, those who want to invest in the development and programming market can opt for options in technical, undergraduate, graduate and university extension courses. Access the Senac EAD website and check the titles.
