The Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 collection by Lebanese designer Elie Saab won great admiration from the public during the Paris Fashion Week events last Wednesday.
This collection reflects the beauty, culture, and rich nature of Thailand. The spring-summer 2023 collection was characterized by meticulous design, high craftsmanship in embroidery, and soft colors of nature, accompanied by shiny stones and golden threads.
Elie Saab said in an interview with Euronews: “We started preparing and designing the Haute Couture collection six months ago. The collection reflects the beauty of Thailand.”
The collection consisted of 69 pieces, including gowns embroidered with pearls and crystals, and luxurious dresses reminiscent of naga dragons and lotus flowers.
“Every piece in the collection is luxurious, intricate and ornate, designed with care… We used a lot of fabrics in the collection. Especially satin, which gives a personal impression, and other light fabrics such as tulle and lace, which give personality to dresses,” Saab explains to Euronews.
Saab says, “What is important for me is to make the woman who wears Elie Saab designs look beautiful and comfortable. A woman should feel strong, confident and show her personality.”
The Lebanese fashion designer aspires to become more international and hopes to develop his own lifestyle brand.
“There is a lot to be done, and I work hard to develop and create new designs,” he says. “Hard work and challenges are crucial to maintaining success… I know and understand the importance of where I am.”
Saab explains to Euronews: “I do not focus only on the Middle East market, but on the international level… We try to meet the needs of women all over the world. I worked with famous Arab talents and today I work with international celebrities and royalty.”
Saab continues, “Every now and then I re-evaluate all the achievements in my career. But when I think back to my beginnings in design, I feel grateful and happy for what I have achieved.”
