International Dyslexia Day aims to make learning disorders visible

Asunción, IP Agency.- October 8 marks International Dyslexia Day, which is a difficulty in learning and presents with problems in the use of language, organization, schedules and carrying out activities. The Ministry of Public Health promotes the Model of Comprehensive Care for Early Childhood Development (MAIDIT), through early intervention services (SIT), in different hospitals in the country.

The Model of Comprehensive Care for Early Childhood Development (MAIDIT), which is carried out by the health portfolio, is the set of strategies, standards, procedures, instruments and resources that establish and organize care related to Early Childhood Development at different levels. of the health sector.

People with dyslexia have problems reading, because it is difficult for them to recognize and understand letters, words and phrases. It can also affect the way they listen, speak and write, but reading is the most complicated.

Dyslexia affects how we use language and is noted in various ways such as difficulty speaking about activities occurring at a specific time. Sometimes they confuse or change the order of their ideas, such as “what are we going to have for lunch?” when they just got up. They also have trouble remembering the days of the week, some letters, and other things related to time and writing.

Children with dyslexia need more time to do tasks, especially reading, and sometimes they do not understand what they read. They may also have problems organizing and complying with schedules or activities.

The Ministry of Public Health carries out the Comprehensive Care Model for Early Childhood Development (MAIDIT), through early intervention services (SIT), in different locations throughout the country such as the San Pablo Maternal and Child Hospital and Nemby.
