The International Criminal Court (ICC) has set September 18 as the date on which it will receive Russia, which accuses Ukraine of “genocide” in the Donbass, the judiciary said on Tuesday. Ukraine has filed a complaint with the ICC just following the start of the Russian invasion, which began on February 24, 2022, accusing Moscow of falsely claiming that genocide is taking place in the Donbass to justify its attack.
In a preliminary ruling issued in March 2022, the ICC ordered Russia to immediately cease its military activities in Ukraine. Ukraine will respond to Russia’s arguments on September 19.
