Interior Minister Gerhard Karner visited Traunkirchen and thanked the Traunkirchen emergency services

Federal Minister Gerhard Karner visited the municipality of Traunkirchen at the invitation of Mayor Christoph Schragl. He met with representatives of the Traunkirchner emergency organizations fire brigade, water rescue and mountain rescue. Representatives of the Gmunden district authority and the Altmünster police station, as well as community and regional representatives also took part in this meeting.

The minister was given an impressive account of some operational situations from the past few years. Especially in the area of ​​the higher-ranking road B145 the Traunkirchner emergency organizations do a highly valuable voluntary work. Be it a rock fall, a mudslide, an accident, or a rescue operation at the lake – the emergency services are on the spot and deal with the dangerous situation quickly and competently. In the past, for example, roads might be reopened in a very short time and the flow of traffic might be maintained.

We are proud of our emergency organizations. You are doing a great job, for which we are very grateful.”, says Mayor Christoph Schragl happily. During the meeting with Interior Minister Gerhard Karner, the very good cooperation with the police and the district administration authority was also emphasized. Good coordination and cooperation in the event of a crisis is essential in order to be able to help quickly and effectively.

Dealing with natural hazards in particular has become increasingly important in recent years. At any time of the day or night, the emergency services move out to help people or to manage natural hazards.

Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner showed great interest in the cases described and thanked the emergency organizations present for their valuable work for the general public.
