The general manager of FRS Iberia/Morocco, Ronny Moriana Glindemann, has been appointed new president of the international Interferry association, following the 47th edition of the organization’s annual conference, from November 4 to 8, 2023 in Hobart (Tasmania).
Ronny Moriana Glindemann announced the holding of the next annual conference in Marrakech (Morocco), the last week of October 2024. The first of its kind in Africa, this meeting will aim to promote customer experience and sustainability, according to a press release.
On the occasion of this announcement, the new president said he was honored to invite representatives of the global maritime industry to Interferry 2024 in Marrakech. With more than 260 member companies and more than 1,000 people from 40 countries, the organization covers a wide range of companies, including RoPax, RoRo, cruises, fast ferries and passenger ferries.
It also includes various professions linked to the maritime sector, between builders, manufacturers and equipment suppliers, naval architects and engineers, shipping agents, publishers, experts in information technology, finance, insurance and crewing, underlines the press release.
He adds that Interferry’s major mission is to defend the interests of the maritime sector, in terms of strategic policy and regulation, or even promoting the creation of networks and communication between its members.
The organization’s principles emphasize the safety of passengers, crew, cargo and vessels, compliance with safety standards and regulations, and respect for the environment.
