Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated videos of White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre, and how she responded to a question regarding a tweet she published in 2016 regarding the results of the presidential election.
This came in the daily press conference of the White House, where Fox correspondent Peter Dossey asked her a question, saying: “I tweeted in 2016 that Trump stole the election.” Jean-Pierre replied, “Let’s be clear, the comparison you made is ridiculous, I was speaking precisely at that time.” What was going on regarding voting rights and what was threatening voting rights that’s what I was talking regarding at the time…”
And Jean-Pierre continued, saying: “I said that President Trump won the 2016 election, and I was clear regarding that, and what we are talking regarding now is the need not to forget what happened on January 6, 2021. We saw a gang by the person who was found in this facility (the White House) and it was an attack on Our democracy…”
And she added, “Let’s not forget that there were people who died on that day. Security forces were attacked that day. This is the danger that we saw at that time, and this is what the president referred to, and this is what he will continue to refer to.”
