Marcus Thuram thought he was Inter Milan’s saviour when he scored his second goal of the evening. Genoa eventually equalised in added time to earn a 2-2 draw against the reigning Italian champions on Saturday. The hosts first surprised Inter with a goal from Alessandro Vogliacco (20th).
Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who poorly repelled Mattia Bani’s header, was surprised by Vogliacco’s shot. But Thuram was quick to get his team back on track with a header from a great cross from Nicolò Barella (31st).
Thuram’s Double
Although dominant, Inter took time to find the fault to take the lead in this match. Perfectly served by Davide Frattesi, the French striker Thuram scored his double by lobbing the goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini. But Genoa equalized in added time (90th + 5) on penalty after a handball by Yann Bisseck in the area.
Junior Messias initially saw his shot pushed away by Sommer, but the Brazilian followed up and poked the ball into the net to earn his side a point.
