The Ministry of National Defense reported in a statement sent this Saturday that the investigation processes into the incident that occurred at the facilities of this State Portfolio on April 7, 2022, regarding Miguel Ángel Nazareno, known as ‘ Don Naza’ and main implicated in the Big Money case.
“This Institution will act with honesty and transparency in the face of an unacceptable fact that threatens the values and principles of our Armed Forces, for which inter-institutional work is being done to establish responsibilities at all levels,” the Ministry said.
Without giving further details, the Ministry stated that “the information will be delivered to the media in due course, depending on the progress of the case.”

The Ministry of Defense acknowledged that Miguel Ángel Nazareno evaded security by using the back of the complex’s facilities.
In a statement, in days past, the Ministry explained that an alert was generated by military intelligence. Specifically, an officer of the Armed Forces contacted the ECU9 11. Due to the presence of people in a suspicious attitude outside the Ministerial Complex, the Military Police Battalion immediately proceeded to inspect the vehicles and their occupants.

They verified the presence of money, so they proceeded to call the National Police due to the presumption of committing an illegal act. “While the inspection of vehicles and people was being carried out, citizen Miguel Ángel Nazareno evaded security by using the back of the facilities of the Ministry of National Defense.”
As a result of the inspections, the five citizens (three men and two women), two vehicles, and all the evidence found that allow the corresponding investigations in order to clarify the facts, were placed under the orders of the Police.
