Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hannah Malyaar announced on Telegram on the 3rd (local time) that “28.4 km2 of the south and 9 km2 of the east that had been taken away by Russia have been restored,” and said that a total of 158 km2 had been recaptured so far.

In particular, Malyaar said, “There is a fierce battle going on in the east right now,” and “control of a place can be lost and regained even twice a day.”

In the case of the last two days, it was also reported that there were 28 battles in 24 hours on the Eastern Front.

While Ukraine is working hard to recapture Bahmut, the biggest battleground so far, Russia is also focusing on defense.

More than 180,000 troops were deployed to defend the eastern front, including 120,000 in Kremina and 50,000 in Bakhmut, Ukrainian military spokesman Serhiy Cherevati said.

It is said that there are airstrike and mechanized units as well as units composed of ex-convicts. According to a video released by the Ukrainian military, inmates of the age of ’60’ were taken prisoner by the Russian army.

Ukraine’s ‘great counterattack’ is predicted, as well as the biggest battle on which the fate of the entire war depends.
