Intensified Security Campaign in Kuwait: Deportation of Expatriates for Traffic Violations

The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait has intensified security campaign in all governorates to prevent various violations of expatriates including traffic violations in Kuwait. The head of traffic awareness department stated that 18846 expatriates were deported from the country for violating traffic laws during the period from March to August.

According to the authorities, those who were arrested due to traffic violations such as speeding, signal violation, racing, illegally carrying passengers and driving a vehicle without a driving license were subjected to deportation. Officials also stated that since the beginning of 2023, the total number of traffic violations recorded in eight months has exceeded 2.6 million.
According to the ministerial decision to revoke the driving licenses of those who do not comply with the conditions, the authorities also stated that the driving licenses of 34,751 expatriates were revoked during the eight months from January to August.
