Asunción, IP Agency.- Within the framework of comprehensive care for the communities of Ñeembucú, isolated by the floods caused by the intense rains, machinery from several institutions works intensively to clean the clogged channels and make the roads passable.
In this sense, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications is carrying out work this Tuesday, in coordination and support of the Government of Ñeembucú, municipalities and other cooperating institutions, in the following points of the department:
- La Elisa neighborhood (Pilar): The “palita” backhoe carries out work to facilitate water runoff.
- San Quintín neighborhood (Pilar): The Government’s motor grader provides support to the Municipality of Pilar in cleaning tasks.
- Las Hermanas Canal: The short arm backhoe works in the spillway alongside two backhoes from the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP).
- Villalbin: The long arm backhoe carries out dipping in coordination with the Municipality of Villalbin.
- Las Hermanas Natural River: The amphibious backhoe continues with the cleaning tasks.
- Montuoso Canal: The backhoe of the Armed Forces Engineering Command intensifies the work on the banks of the canal.
In addition, 6 1-meter tubes were sent for the placement of tube lines in the town of Tacuaras.
These actions are addressed by the institutions that contribute to the improvement of the conditions of natural roads and canals, in addition to other assistance for affected families.
The minister of the National Emergency Secretariat, Arsenio Zárate, also reported this Tuesday that the institution continues to provide food kits to the 2,700 families affected by the floods in the department.
