Intense Showers Alert in Belgium: Yellow Warning Issued by Royal Meteorological Institute

The showers will be particularly intense this Tuesday, the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) announced Monday evening. Almost all of Belgium, with the exception of the province of Antwerp and the coast, is placed on yellow alert on Tuesday between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

An area of ​​intense showers will affect Belgium from west to east during the followingnoon and might lead to accumulations of more than 20 l/m2 in six hours in several places. The IRM specifies that the north of the country should however escape the largest accumulations.

Recent downpours in Belgium and northern France have notably led to flooding in the Westhoek region of West Flanders. However, the situation was announced to be under control on Monday followingnoon.
