The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi) warned that, between today and tomorrow, Sunday, March 19, the departments of the north coast will endure heavy rains, while light to moderate rains are expected on the central and southern coasts.
According to the rain forecast prepared by Senamhi, heavy to extreme intensity rain is expected in the mountains; while in the jungle, rainfall of moderate to strong intensity is expected, mainly in the central and southern jungle.

According to the rain monitoring carried out by Senamhi, this week the coast of the Piura, Lambayeque and La Libertad regions presented accumulations classified as “extremely rainy” and even the stations of Cayaltí (87.1 millimeters), Trujillo (35 millimeters), Cherrepe (66.2 millimeters) and Talla (103.7 millimeters) recorded the highest values in each of their series.

Meanwhile, in the central highlands, specifically Ancash and Lima, frequent rains were recorded and classified as extremely rainy. Among the highest values, 24.7 millimeters stands out in Obrajillo; 27.3 millimeters in Pampa Blanca and 37.5 millimeters in Pachamacay. The latter is an unprecedented value.

Finally, in the northern and central jungle there were significant rains on March 9 and 10, with accumulations classified as extremely rainy and very rainy.
