Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Meteorological Authority’s media center, gave details of the intense heat wave that will hit the country during the coming period.
Ghanem added to Masrawy: The wave is normal from the usual summer waves, and summer temperatures are 35 degrees, but in the coming days it will rise to 38 degrees in Cairo and reach 45 degrees in southern Upper Egypt.
Ghanem explained: We expect the humidity to rise to 85 at night, and the wave will continue from Thursday until next Tuesday, but the peak is from Saturday to Monday.
And she continued: It is preferable not to be exposed to the sun and drink plenty of fluids.
Ghanem advised citizens to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, especially during peak times, which are between 12 noon and 4 pm, and to wear a head covering while on the street, as well as to be in well-ventilated areas to reduce high humidity.
