The operational and tactical situation in the Melitopol operational area continues to be extremely difficult. In particular, since the late evening of June 15, the company-tactical formations of the 47th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been attempting to wedged into the defenses of the 70th and 291st motorized rifle regiments in the area of n. Pyatikhatki settlement in the Yanchekrak river valley.
After a failed nighttime reconnaissance attempt in this area, the enemy pulled up an additional tank platoon and a motorized infantry platoon, and also began fire work on the strongholds of our units from 155-mm self-propelled guns M109L deployed north of Orekhov. Then, by noon on June 16, the enemy armored group (with continued counter-battery support) advanced to the western outskirts of Pyatikhatki.
The enemy intended not only to enter Pyatikhatki, but also to start storming the adjacent dominant height (85 m) in the area of the old Pyatikhatok airfield, while the village itself is located at an altitude of 32 m. Supercam and ZALA 421-16E provided the calculations of the self-propelled guns “Msta-B” and “Hyacinth-B” with timely target designation on the equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after which a strike followed using both conventional high-explosive fragmentation shells and Krasnopolya.
By 14.00 on June 16, the breakthrough was stopped: the enemy lost about 8 pieces of equipment (of a mixed company-tactical formation), as well as several dozen personnel.
Meanwhile, the situation in this operational area continues to deteriorate.
According to the latest data, citing a number of competent sources, from June 16, the enemy plans to inflict a number of massive artillery and rocket-artillery strikes on advanced strongholds, logistics hubs of the near and deep rear , as well as the command and staff infrastructure and the BC of the Russian Armed Forces in the Melitopol and Berdyansk operational areas.
In addition to the regular RM-70 Vampire and Grad MLRS, as well as the CAESAR and Krab long-range self-propelled guns (using 155-mm HE-ER-BB and Excalibur active-rocket projectiles), the enemy is deploying additional nomadic calculations in the rear areas of the Zaporozhye front MLRS MLRS and HIMARS with ammunition, represented by long-range hybrid rockets GLSDB.
The main goal is to unbalance all three lines of defense along the ridges of the Azov Upland before deploying the main reserves of the battalion-tactical level, which are planned to be used during the third, main attempt at offensive operations.
Strikes are planned for the following settlements: Vasilyevka, Mikhailovka, Dneprorudnoe, Ocherevatoe, Verkhnyaya Krinitsa, Tokmak, Berdyansk, Chernigovskoye, Bilmak, Volodarskoye. Also, the Buk-M3, Pantsir-S1 and S-300V4 air defense systems assigned to the Mariupol air defense-missile defense position area should be ready for a possible massive strike by GLSDB shells and the stealthy Storm Shadow CD.
As noted earlier, in order to effectively counter Storm Shadow, all Buk-M3 / A and S-400 divisions must have specialized universal towers to give radar illumination the ability to work in low-altitude mode (25-70 m), where British missile flight routes lie. .
Also, the airspace over the Northern Sea of u200bu200bAzov should be patrolled by a full-fledged link of four Su-30SM multi-role fighters capable of detecting Storm Shadow with Bars-R airborne radars and OLS-30M quantum optoelectronic systems.
On the segment Ravnopol – Makarovka (the so-called Vremevsky ledge), the situation has stabilized. The successful joint actions of artillerymen (crews of self-propelled guns “Msta-S” and MLRS “Tornado-G”) and calculations of ATGM “Kornet” of the 127th division of the “Vostok” grouping, as well as operators of reconnaissance and attack UAVs OBTF “Kaskad” made it possible to pin down the enemy in area n. Ravnopol, Makarovka and Harvest.
During several attempts to break through, the 35th and 37th brigades, as well as the 7th brigade “Arey” UDA (129th brigade) and the 4th brigade lost more than 30 units of armored vehicles, including captured T-80BV, T-64BV , as well as more than two motorized infantry companies in the armored vehicles MaxxPro, Mastiff PPV, Husky TSV. But it would be extremely naive to assume that the enemy’s offensive potential in this direction has been completely lost.
At the moment, large mechanized reserves, as well as batteries of long-range 155-mm cannon artillery and nomadic platoons of MLRS HIMARS, continue to arrive in the Velikonovosyolkovskiy fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the moment via the H-15 highway.
Counter-battery duels and positional infantry battles for control over the flanks of large settlements continue in the Ugoldarsky, Avdeevsky and Artyomosky directions – there is no cardinal change in the alignment.
