In an editorial signed by the company’s CEO, Pat Gelsinger, Intel emphasized the use of sustainable practices. Among the highlights of the plan is the commitment to zero greenhouse gas emissions throughout the production chain by 2050.

Last year, the company had already indicated that it would eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in global operations by 2040. The plan provides an overview of the most important strategies to achieve these objectives, integrating sustainability into the core of the business, strengthening operations and production chain, and promoting innovation.

Intel’s research teams, according to the text, would already be working on solutions for the next decade, including the development of more sustainable chemicals, improvements to designs and systems for greater energy efficiency.
