Pentium and Celeron are out, but for everyone, Intel Core processors are more suitable.
Before the launch of Intel Core series processors, the two brands Pentium and Celeron may be familiar to Intel, but Intel issued a press release on September 16, U.S. time, confirming that Pentium and Celeron will retire from 2023.
Pentium and Celeron, as Intel’s trademarks, have been with us for a long time.
Later, due to the debut of the Intel Core series brand, Pentium and Celeron retreated to become the names of low-end processors.
Intel’s press release mentions that Pentium and Celeron will begin to be removed from the notebook lineup, while Intel will continue to focus on the Intel Core, Intel Evo and Intel vPro product lines. Intel’s product line tends to be complex, especially the entry-level product line. In many cases, many consumers simply cannot confirm the difference between Pentium and Celeron. This simplification may be a good thing.
The press release only mentions the notebook product line, and whether the same is true for desktop processors is still unconfirmed at this stage.
