Intel mistakenly releases specs for three future 13th Gen Core processors

Intel’s Canadian site erroneously gave some specs on future Core i5-13600K, Core i7-13700K and Core i9-13900K processors.

Small failure for Intel, which mistakenly published on its Canadian site some specifications of its future Core “Raptor Lake” processors. The page was spotted by Internet users, before being withdrawn by the manufacturer.

The site mentions three 13th generation Core processors:

  • Core i5-13600K : 14 cores (6 P-core and 8 E-core) and 20 threads. Up to 5.1 GHz Turbo for P-core cores.
  • Core i7-13700K : 16 cores (8 P-core and 8 E-core) and 24 threads. Up to 5.3 GHz Turbo for P-core cores.
  • Core i9-13900K : 24 cores (8 P-core and 16 E-core) and 32 threads. Up to 5.4 GHz Turbo for P-core cores.

This corresponds to internal presentation slides that have leaked a few days ago. These slides indicate that the P-core cores of the Core i7 and Core i9 processors can reach 5.4 and 5.7 GHz respectively with Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology. And with Thermal Velocity Boost technology, the Core i9 goes up to 5.8 GHz. The manufacturer even mentioned the possibility of reaching 6 GHz. In comparison, AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X (16 cores) reaches 5.7 GHz in Boost frequency. The slide also mentions KF versions, without integrated GPU. The K designation indicates that the processors are not frequency locked and are compatible with overclocking.

According to comments from Intel collected by our colleagues from The Verge, 13th generation processors offer performance gains of 15% in single thread and 41% in multithread compared to 12th generation Core. The three models mentioned above are probably only the beginning. Indeed, Intel launched no less than 50 models for the 12th generation of its Core processors.

We’ll learn more about 13th Gen Core processors at the event Intel Innovation which will be held on September 27 and 28 in San Jose, California. Coincidence: it is on the same date that resellers will be able to offer the new processors Ryzen 7000 d’AMD equipped with “Zen 4” hearts.
